For nearly two decades, Attorney James M. Sears has practiced law in the North Shore and Metropolitan Boston areas focusing on Tax Law, Real Estate Conveyancing and Development, and Estate and Medicaid Planning.
 
For 17 years, Jim practiced law with his father, John E. Sears, under the title of "Sears and Sears, Attorneys-at-Law" until his father's passing in 2005.
 
Jim Sears is a graduate of St. John’s Preparatory High School located in Danvers, MA, and he earned his B.S. Degree in Business Finance, Cum Laude from Providence College in 1985.
 
He  continued his education at Western New England College School of Law earning his Law Degree in 1988 and thereafter attended Boston University School of Law Graduate Tax Program earning his L.L.M. in Taxation in 1990.
 
Jim has been licensed to practice in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts since 1989, and in the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts since 1990.
 
Attorney Sears regularly represents landlords and tenants at the Northeast Housing Court and District Courts in the North Shore and Metropolitan Boston areas.
 
Jim represents clients with income and estate tax audits, hearings and appeals before the Internal Revenue Service and the Massachusetts Department of Revenue.
 
He has taught Probate Law, Business Law and Civil Trial and Appellate Practice at Merrimack College and North Shore Community College Paralegal Studies Programs.
 
Attorney Sears proudly serves on the Danvers Planning Board and is an active Danvers Town Meeting Member. Jim is also active in various civic and educational organizations as a youth sports coach and School Board member and volunteer.
